Mary besson

Mary is a University of Michigan graduate, GO BLUE!  She got a BS in Healthcare Education with a minor in Administration.  She spent most of her career as a paramedic and has been involved in a variety of organizations.  

Mary and her partner, Darla, have been in a committed relationship for 21 years.  They enjoy visiting beaches and hunting for rocks.  Their favorite activity is going up north and hunting for Petoskey stones and fossils.  

Mary spends a lot of time gardening and landscaping, she has even made that a side job for herself in the summer months.  She helps her neighbors with various projects like yard work as well as snow removal in the winter. 

Mary began her involvement with Habitat for Humanity of Mason County in 2016 at the first Neighbor to Neighbor project.  She was the recipient of the Neighbor to Neighbor projects in 2019.  She continues to volunteer at the ReStore and was chosen for the 2019 Volunteer of the Year.  Mary was the focus of the Be Like Mary fundraising campaign in  2020 and continues to be a huge advocate for HFH of Mason County.  Mary is also a significant donor for "her Habitat".
